So a some really good friends of mine are having relationship issues and I have been trying to help them figure out things. Even after 11 years of marriage they have issues and I am always happy to help. The wife talks to me more than the husband, but that’s just because guys talk less etc. Anyway the other day we were talking about goals and how life isn’t panning out how either of us want at the moment and what were things we both wanted to do and got to talking planse and wanting to get pilots licences. Well I have 2 planes I have always wanted a Learjet 25 and a Cessna 441 Conquest II because turboprops are fucking cool! Anyway she gave me this as a thank you for helping and to help maybe get me to do something new with my life.
It is 30 minutes on the ground and 30 minutes in the air. I was speechless. and so freaking excited!!!!!
Learjet 25 (used by NASA)
Cessna 441 Conquest II
I have a thing for older planes

Awesome! I look forward to being at a point in my life where I can afford to do that. I’ve been around aviation a lot, but never had the funds to pay for school. I’m seriously jealous over here!

It is one class so far, after that unless I get a good raise or something IDK when I would be able to finish the classes.

My delusional personal dream is that I’ll someday have screw you money. Much like you I’m a fan of older planes. My thoughts are even less practical though.
I want a radial powered amphib.

That’s a ridiculously awesome and thoughtful gift.
However, it’s also like giving crack to an addict. After my intro flight I just KNEW that I had to get my license asap!!

I could save a little time and maintenance cost by not needing any train cars. Well, just one. I mean if you have private steam locomotive money you don’t share a hotel with commoners. If I have a steam locomotive I’ll be playing engineer.
Though I’d probably go with one of the streamlined locomotives.

Yeah, good points. But you need two cars. Your personal quarters and a food/ staff sleeper.

There was a Widgeon just sitting outside at an airport where I worked in 2000. I made any excuse to go to that end of the field just so I could walk around it.

True, can’t count on always stopping near a fleabag motel for the staff to sleep in.
Food not as much for me because finding the best restaurants along the track would be part of the fun. Just need a well stocked bar and snack foods.

It takes Ten to fifteen thousand to complete the courses and flight time to become fully licensed. This is why I went with hang gliding instead. Much cheaper.

That is awesome. I’ve been flying a few times in a friend’s Piper Cub, and it’s amazing, every time. He’s given me the basics and let me take control a little here and there. I’ve been in a Super Cub as well, towing a glider... same pilot. I wish I had the time and money.... maybe a powered paraglider? Because they look like fun and if something goes wrong, you’re
already in the thing you’d want to be in for an emergency!
